We believe this is the first time the swim has been successfully completed. Conditions were not bad enough for the race to be called off but the time reflects the distance that had to be covered into a head wind and quite choppy!

Quote from the winner - I had 2 reasons for staying in the water - my girlfriend would have been able to say - I told you you needed to do more training - and much more importantly, if I had given up I would have had to try it cagain!!

Thanks to the support team - who beteween them provided the start boat, escort medical and morale boosting input - including food and drink! Its a mazing how far a tankfull f petrol will last!
